Kalaloch Campground is among the finest campgrounds in Washington State; located on the edge of the north western coast of the Olympic National Park.

Kalaloch Campground is securely nestled atop low-lying cliffs that divide land from the beach and sea. Its location provides one with a stunningly beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean which appears to infinitely extend into the horizon.

Kalaloch Campground is approximately three miles north of the Kalaloch lodge which has a general store. In this store one can purchase firewood, coffee, and various food items to take back to the camp.

Kalaloch Campground's Amenities and Availible Camp Sites: There are a total of 175 camp sites at Kalaloch Campground; many of which boast a 180 degree view of the beautiful ocean. The camp sites that do not face the ocean are nestled within the old growth forest that is typical of the Olympic National Park. The smell of the ocean permeates the entire campground as does the sound of the relentless crashing waves.

Camp sites cost $12.00 each night and a particular site can be reserved from June 15th to September 2nd; the rest of the year operates on first come first serve basis. The ocean-front camp sites are positioned in a way that offers unmatched views of the sunrise over the water.

Each camp site is equipped with unmatched scenery, a picnic table and a fire pit. The campground itself offers bathrooms, potable water, beach access and a dump station for RV’s.

Kalaloch Offers Privacy on the Beach and a Sense of Solitude: There are several easily accessible trails down to the beach in the campground; the beach is a part of the 75 miles of protected coastal wilderness. Therefore, the beach is pristine and unpopulated; one could take a beach walk without encountering another human being.

The beauty of the coastal ocean is unmatched by any other in the state; waves break in a similar manner as they do in Hawaii but are about a quarter of the height. The beach is composed mainly of fine sand with scattered boulders and various pieces of drift wood that sit on the edge of the beach, far away from the water. Deceased sea urchins and sand dollars are spit out by the ocean and compliment the sandy shore beautifully.

This campground is unlike any other in the Pacific Northwest because it provides patrons with the ability to relax in the presence of miles of uninterrupted ocean. A beach walk truly connects one to nature. While walking, one hears the crash of the ocean on one side and the sees the beauty of natural old growth forest on the other.
